Canberra Veterinary Emergency Service (CVES) is a busy and progressive Veterinary practice that provides 24-hour care to pets and wildlife. We aim to provide the highest quality emergency veterinary care for animals when they need it most and have built a reputation for excellence. After recent practice growth we are now seeking a part-time Operations Manager.

The veterinary industry is an exciting, progressive and fast-paced field to work in. We have seen an unprecedented influx of cases and growth since the pandemic which presents a great next-step for someone looking to challenge themselves in their career. Your objective within this role would be to create an environment in which our team members enjoy their work, excel in their roles and delight our clients. There is opportunities to develop wellbeing initiatives, fatigue management strategies, coordinate training of clinical and non-clinical skills, mitigate risk and align operations with business goals.

Summary Of Duties

The successful applicant will require strong human resources and leadership ability, as well as the ability to take responsibility for the operational elements of our practice, including technical support.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

  • Solid experience in management of small to medium teams
  • Demonstrated coaching, mentoring and team building skills
  • Demonstrated ability in human resources, including the confidence to handle difficult conversations and negotiations
  • Demonstrated ability to be calm and offer solutions when problems arise

For The Successful Candidate

Given the nature of our 24-hour service for clients, we require this role work to part time hours across a variety of shifts, some of which may be on weekends, mornings /nights and public holidays when required. We are willing to offer competitive remuneration depending on skills and experience of the successful applicant.
