Mariam was born and raised in Canberra. Since she was very young she has always loved animals and has always wanted to work with them. Mariam has been in the industry since 2022 and has always been interested in emergency work. She completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2023 and shortly after joined the CVES team. Almost immediately after finishing her Certificate IV, Mariam stayed busy and began her Bachelor of Animal Science, with her end goal getting into Veterinary Science. Mariam has recently joined our Permanent team and is enjoying every aspect of Emergency work. Mariam has a passion for advocating for patients and working with clients, she has a special interest in animal behaviour (especially cats) and is currently working towards becoming ‘Fear Free Certified’. Mariam believes that each patient’s experience should be as fear-free and stress-free as possible and tries her best to make this happen.
In her free time Mariam loves spending time with family and her beloved pets – Turbo and Nitro her cats, Tess her horse and Tucker her Australian Cattle Dog. Mariam loves spending time outdoors, going camping and visiting the beach (especially with Tucker).
